hello everyone, is anyone here in the cmca? thinking on joining cmca since caravans now have full membership but am wondering about the ingham place to stay and want to know about grey water. Do we need to be self contained, is it piped like a caravan park or does it flow onto ground. Also want to know about there other places in australia For the same reason. Thanks everyone.

Do you have a name apart from "the rocket"?
It is a strict requirement at Ingham that NO grey water will go onto the ground. PERIOD! This requirement is set by the local council because of the sensitivity of the area. For those who do not have a grey water tank or sealed system tote of their own, there will be tote tanks available for loan at the site. The RVer will need to equip their vehicle to connect to that tote so that NO GREY water is spilled, EVER. The details of that arrangement are still being resolved, but a tap on the grey outlet will be required and a connection method to the tote. There is a dump point on site for disposal of grey and black water.
Caravaners are not quite full members, because they don't have voting rights in the Club, but they can make full use of ALL of the Member benefits. Ingham is the first of a planned large number of CMCA RV Parks to be established across the country. Fees are $5 pvpn. Members only. There will be potable water and a dump point at each and a camp host in attendance.
It is expected that the grey water requirements and facilities at Ingham will be repeated at all other CMCA RV Parks as they are established.

I have seen that Ingham is now $10 a night , Me think I would stay in a caravan park $25 extra for no fuss power and shower .

For CMCA members (and you can join at the gate if you want and can satisfy the self containment requirements) Ingham RV Park is currently free to stay. It will eventually be $3 per person when other parks come on line but as a special to our members it is free until advised otherwise.

Where do you people get this rubbish? Do you sit up all night inventing this stuff?
I am not a regular rally goer, but they sometimes allocate spaces according to rig length to make the most of the area available. That has nothing to do with caravans.

Interesting Peter The CMCA rally held in Sale Victoria a few years ago had motorhomes at one location and the caravans in another location.
Not just segregated on the rally site ... but a separate site for vans.

Guy's, I have just returned from the Bathurst Rally, and I can assure you it is exactly as Peter has said caravans and motorhomes were placed to best utilise space all mixed together and no segregation at all.

What rubbish is spoken here - is it just jealousy or lack of knowledge? I have just come from the Bathurst Rally and all types of vehicles were mixed in together including that so called dreaded word "caravan" which you seem to think us motorhomers hate. I even had a caravan opposite me parked next to a big Winebago Explorer and parked next to a Hi-Ace on the other side. There is no segregation so get over it (sure there MAY have been in years gone by but things have changed). A lot of caravaners don't wave either but I don't lose sleep over it. Some big motorhomes don't wave to me either and again I don't lose sleep over it.

I would seem on the surface that CMCA are coming in from the dark and allowing caravaners everything except voting rights, now in a free society to many that seems outlandish. Many private organizations have been forced to change over the years on membership restrictions through public pressure and I sure it will be the case here also. I have noticed a step towards this with the CMCA taking out another business name (Campervan Motorhome and Caravan Club of Australia) in Sept 2015.

Why would any one in there right mind that owns a caravan want to join that club ,read between the lines on all these posts ..
Free camping just using common sense on how you leave the places you stay at is good enough, without all this Club B/s makes more sense to me.

Gee I shake my head with some of the things I see written re the CMCA. I often work at rallies parking the incoming vehicles and I can assure you there is no discrimination based on vehicle type. The simple fact is the the vehicles are parked to get the maximum in without running out of space.
As for associate members, which by the way is open to anybody, whether you have a caravan or a push bike or nothing, you just have to have an interest in the club. Associates are entitled to all the benefits of the club except holding office and voting, no different to many other clubs. As to whether full membership will be granted to associate members is a matter for the members themselves and can only be changed by a change in the constitution which requires a 75% majority vote to happen, just like many other clubs. posts on various forum is likely to have little influence on the process if and when it happens.

So this CMCA I assume is an Campervan / Motor Home club ?
And they will allow me to be a member of their club if I have a caravan but I wont have any voting rights in the club , correct ?

I have a caravan and I am member of CMCA I have all the membership benefits except the right to vote, but that doesn't bother me one jot, the monthly magazine is excellent and the benefits are being added to as the months go by, there is scheme were you can stay on members properties and the list is growing month by month, there are deals being made where you can stay at a caravan park for $10 a night with in most cases just the use of the toilet facilities but you need to be self contained.
There are also a number of van parks where the fee is discounted by 10% if you are a CMCA member
All in all the yearly membership fee is well worth it for all the many benefits that being a member brings, but no one is forced to join so why the moaning here about CMCA.

We had friends staying at INgham cmca park. Went to visit. My what a rude person the camp host was.
I have a cmca leave no trace certified m/home but, there was no way she was going to let me drive in. A c/van pulled up behind me and all she said was get out of the way. Bias to c/vans? LOL.
The caravan was not self contained and belonged to my friends which is why we weren!t staying and after a chat with our friends staying there were moving on to a CP for the night.

Think you will find this park is closed until after the Wet season.
Yes we are CMCA members, (Associate), but feel it is worth our while even though I would like Caravaners to have full rights am still happy with what we get from our membership.

We can see by the reaction between many caravaners and motorhomers in a number of online forums, there is little love lost between many of them
We were members of a sporting association many years ago, in our ignorance we allowed social members to outnumber active competing members, you guessed it, social members had voting rights.
Went to a meeting one afternoon, the social members had a bee up their nose about something, the upshot being they moved to wind up the club, and having the numbers they won.
If you want problems in an organisation give social or associate members an equal vote, split the membership and allow time, it'll happen.
