hello everyone, i am cleaning the hatch on ceiling and screens but how do i clean the outside parts that open up. Can i somehow remove the screen gauze or do i need to get on the outside roof? Thanks. Rocket n strop

It depends how the hatch is fitted
On a Jayco Conquest the two roof hatches in the living area, are easily removed, as the inside of the hatch pulls down from the ceiling, and all that is left is the plastic type lid on the roof
In the shower area, the inside of the hatch is held on with screws
Perhaps if you let everyone know what type of Recreation Vehicle, or hatch manufacture, you have, someone with that type may know the answer

The hatch you have is a Camec Four Seasons hatch. As you can see from that link you can get replacement screens for them so they must come out easily. Try prising them out with a screwdriver or knife.

Exactly.
Mine have mini screens that fit in place just like the window screens with a flexible ribbed 'rubber' edge.
I just use a paddle pop stick that has been sharpened a bit.

Hi Rocket, Ours were in need of a clean and I thought why not gernie them. One set over the kitchen, so I did them first. No problem, put a towel over the dinette. Then did the set above the bed. Covered the bed just in case. Won't tell you what Lynne said when I said what I had done but all was forgiven when she saw the result. A bit like living dangerously. LOL
