we are heading north later this week and due to having to be in Derby by a particular date we only have 12 nights from Darwin with stop offs in the Bungle Bungles , Kunnanurra, Lake Argyle and Geike Gorge. Our dilemma is we wanted to see Home Valley Station but also ElQuestro so a decision has to be made any suggestions which one. We have a caravan but also plan on leaving the van at places and camping so can do either. Is Wyndham worth a trip to also

I've stayed at both, and it's hard to decide between them. They both offer different experiences. I've stayed at the main campground at El Q, and its possible to find cool and shady sites, but can't comment on the individual river sites, except they're popular so perhaps enough said. At Home Stn you can stay at the homestead on manicured lawns and a central pool, but not much in the way of shade or down on the river in a more bush like camp looking out across the river to the ****burn Range.
Both have excellent facilities.
I'd recommend you stay at both if you can.
PS Another delightful site to stay at is Parry Creek Farm [See: parrycreekfarm.com.au/] for yet another experience, to go along with Wyndam, Kunnunurra and Lake Argyla.

There is more to do at El Questro than at Home Valley - walks, Chamberlain Gorge boat trip etc. Get one of their private riverside camp sites if you can.
Visit Wyndham as a day trip from Kununurra, taking in Parrys Lagoon, the Grotto etc on the same day.
That is an awfully short amount of time to do justice to a huge and beautiful part of the country.

Yes it is too short a time but we do have another 12 days on the Gibb River Rd from Derby afterwards before heading to Broome, it's just the section from Darwin to Derby via the main road that we are struggling with so have to make choices unfortunately

Yes we have the Kimberley bible and have now changed a few things around and getting to each place but it may be a bit rushed but will know for the next trip where we want to go . Thanks for all replies
