I wondered how long it would take. Was very unstable 2 years ago.

Someone we know drove to the little bridge, turned around and left, did not look stable at all, about a month or so ago. It is a concrete bridge over a creek, broken up and cracked two years ago, as HW says, pity, it is a great spot.

Like all Kimberlery roads ........they just love a bit of rain......
We loved being the gate keeper at Mt Barnett Roadhouse for years and keeping the gate locked until we felt the road in was dry enough to handle the traffic........ At times the look on peoples faces when told no was priceless..

We took this picture in 09, at that stage the crossing looked fine, can't say much for the Croc though,
Had a very long Happy Hour with another 150 people at this camp, long to return one day.
sounds like it cant be too bad as Main Roads are saying it will be re-opened in 2 weeks

It was nothing like that photo 2 years ago. The concrete was all broken up and quite a worry to drive on dodging broken bits sticking up. Biggest worry being the tyres which thankfully survived.

I guess if Main Roads pull their fingers out and get organised with all the gear on hand to do a new river crossing, it shouldn't take that long to repair the damage,
After seeing how rivers in the North can flow after heavy rain, it's not surprising that the causeway has been undermined and broken up, lets hope they do a good job on the repair, not just a face lift, as the next rain will take it all down stream pretty quick.

It was all broken up and dodgy in 2001 when we went over it, must happened from time to time, had water running over it also, but only about 5cms.......lots of cows wandering around the camp area and fly's galore.
Information received from Main Roads W.A.
