Came across this site www.recalls.gov.au you can carry out a search on this site to discover if there are any recalls on you car or van.
This is especially helpful if you have purchased secondhand and you may not have received a recall notification.

Thanks for that David - have saved it as a favourite and will check regularly.
The problem with importers is they are self regulated and many often seem to not know or ignore the various regulations and standards in place to protect the consumer from injury or death.
Worse still is the number of very large companies, like Woolworths, KMart, Target who bring in items that are for example kiddies clothing that is not flame resistant. Companies of this size know the requirements, but it seems they choose to ignore it or not have processes in place to check them
