Shut the front gate!
I had to go back to see who posted this nightmare half way through reading as I thought it was " Hey Jim " Nup. Thanks Bessie. Makes my few problems in the beginning nothing really
Of course the after sales service from my dealer was exceptional and second to none and made the difference.

Hi Dougwe, we had a exceptional dealer as well, must admit it does make all the difference and they were a pleasure to deal with. Bessie

Wow!!
Hopefully my new van is not that bad, but I have got on the creeper for a good look underneath.
Had a crooked draw runner, but that was easily fixed myself, and apart from the fridge problem, that's it!
Well so far anyway...

Hi Dougwe,
Your wrong again. I'm just a pussy cat compaired to Alan.
Anyway our van is getting put together by a team of Experts I have enlisted at my owe expense. Once completed I will do the before and after photo's. This morning we repositioned the drawbar tap. It was held on by one only pop rivet. The lunch bell must have rung. anyway its out of harms way now.
The brakes are now getting a make over. We will be on the road on time.
Jim

Bought a 2011 Crusader new, I'm guessing a lot of Crusader workers moved to Paramount before they built his.

Some stories out there ey!!!, Feel for their pain and some lessons to be taken onboard ...
Therer's an old saying by the Greeks , which was passed on to me by my Dad "Ta Matgias Dekka " in other words look with ten eys open lol .. Not that it did me any good simply through sheer ignorance lol but at least another lesson learnt among the many others !!..
And yes makes our few Problemos with our Van look small ey..
Sometimes i think would it make any difference at days end to pay the cost to have a qualified repairer inspect your purchase prior to taking delivery ??..

That is a very bad case of the consumer doing the quality control. That van must have been built by the work experience kid on a Friday before Xmas holidays.
We had a few issues as well, but nothing like our friend in the OP. Most I managed to fix but a few were done under warantee ( is that a spelling mistake?) who cares?
I believe (and please correct me) that only licenced electricians, plumbers and gas fitters should be working on caravans and a certificate of compliance issued for each installation. Before I took delivery of my van I really pissed off the dealer (who wanted me out the door) by insisting on COCs before I parted with my gold and signing the release document, I eventually found them inside the caravan (dealer delivery rep didnt know where to look! Mind you he looked like a real goose when I left)
As far as the "little" things like screws not tight and intruding into spaces, thats just slack unskilled workers. I can not believe a nylock nut was put on backwards, thats just plain slack work, not to mention laziness and lack of technical aptitude.
OK all manufacturers have some issues and some dealers are mongrels to deal with after you pay, but this poor fellow got the lemon that all lemons are measured by.
Cheers
