Would any readers out there have a Silversdo, and can tell me the best way to achieve a better fuel economy when either driving normal or towing.. Is there anything on the market that will help cut fuel costs, ie. chips, converters etc.. And what better fuel economy would I get ?

If you read the magazines then you need to put in a chip, large exhaust and a hi-clone etc. Best way is to drive with economy in mind. Slow down, change down early etc

With Diesels I've found over the years to back the throttle off a little makes a huge difference each tank full.
I can save over 10% each day from this.

It's the Durimax engine .. Btw I have the earlier 6.5 GM in my RV .. Air intake , turbo boosting as it should, I see injectors are pricy on them ? I use a water / Meth kit on mine www.develsown.com . About 20%
Ethanol come in on boost to cool intake charge & combustion chamber .. Also keeps engine chambers really clean .. If it smokes out exhaust at all it's too rich or more the point !! Engine isn't getting enough air .. Air cleaner is critical .. Good engines .. Check exhaust brake if fitted ??

Nice Vehicle but try a trade into something smaller or travel less. No help I know but anything with Chevy or imported Ford in the name just screams juice guzzler The Yanks are not big on saving fuel just yet but wait market share will dictate what happens to the brand out here

Yes yet the engines is Isuzu designed .. Most disconnect EGR and exhaust filter if it has one ? Doing this fuel consumption goes from 16 to just over 20 mpg .. I would say a tune or re-chip if you want better fuel consumption. The strange thing with diesels is more boost & power they actually have better fuel consumption if not driven hard .. Some have an extra injector on exhaust to clean the exhaust .. If doing short trips it could be coming on more often ..

Thank for the info, I know these vehicles are expensive to run, so I should not complain, as I knew what I was getting into...bi was told about having the emmision system removed, I know it's illegal, but I was quoted $3,000 to have it removed and reconfigure the computer... Anyway, I will stay with what I got any enjoy the ride...
safe travels and hope to see you on the road somewhere...
