Can someone please advise on how and where i can a find live wire on the ignition side of a 2015 Ford Ranger.
If i need to pull some of the dash off please explain how.
I have just mounted a camera for the caravan and i am having trouble as to where to hook it up on the ignition side as i would like it to turn of when the car is off.
I would assume that if i hook the wire that is supposed to to go to the reverse side to a live wire it will let me have the unit on all of the time instead of only in reverse.

Inside the car - try using the wire on the back of a cigarette lighter/12 volt socket.
Under the bonnet - try using the 12 volt wire on the back of the windscreen wiper motor.

Why not make it simple and just attach an cigarette lighter accessory plug to the camera cable and leave it plugged in. This removes the possibility of blowing something because in modern cars using the CAN system if you tap into the wrong wire it can cause big headaches.

My auto electrician went down the side of window on the drivers side (tucked in) straight onto the fuse box very simple.
Work on the fuse panel via the drop down.

That's what I did, but went one better and got a 3 socket extension. Now we have the Camera Monitor, GPS, and a twin USB charger plugged in (to charge up our portable devices whilst we're traveling) all running cig lighter socket.
