I live in Queensland and I was wondering how much it would roughly be per year to insure a 20ft motorhome. I would be living in it full time and I would want full coverage.

Thanks for that Banditandjo, I thought I read somewhere that you had to pay more because you lived in it. I thought it would be more like $2000 a year or something horrendous like that. $58 a month you can't beat that.

Caliban is after a price for a motorhome which will be lots more than a caravan I'd reckon. OP should contact Ten Tame who does motorhomes I think.

Ken Tame is an RV insurance broker and many people use him. CIL is another specialist RV insurer.
Suggest you google them for phone numbers and talk to them about your van, the fact you intend to use it full time (CIL didn't care if it was full or part-time use) and what contents insurance you want.
Be aware that most mainstream general insurance companies don't provide the same level of cover as the above two.
For example, laptops, tablets and other electronic gear are not normally insured with the major companies.
Also check about awning insurance if you will have one and goods inside the annexe. Generators, even when padlocked to an outside point on your RV are not covered - so it pays to chat with them, ask what they DONT cover and then ask them to send you their PDF (this is a plain language booklet they are required to furnish you by law) which spells out what you are covered for, and what you are not covered for.
You also have a 28 (I think its 28) day cool off period once you pay a policy when you can have a careful read of it and if not what you want, cancel it and get a full refund

We are with Ken Tame - price depends on value insured, and driver rating (Rating 1 on car does NOT equal Rating 1 on a bigger rig like a 9m, 11tonne bus). For our 'house on wheels' and (I think about) $20,000 contents, we pay around 1,000 a year.

You have to be a member of CMCA before Ken Tame will cover you.

That is all okay, I would rather have full cover than it be cheaper.

CMCA membership is around $60 per annum, not too much for knowing you can access good insurance IMHO. Best bet, once you know/have the exact vehicle you want, get it valued by a REPUTABLE crowd, ask what you are covered for, get the costs together, and work out which one works for you.
One big advantage with Ken Tame is that when we make a claim, we don't do anything other than pay the excess, all communication is between the repairer and the insurance company.
