R flies really that diseased or was it a very successful ad that made us think that?

I don't worry about the flies so much. Just annoying and tickle when they land on you.
It's the Mozzies I hate, if they are around I will get bitten as I have now and I itch for days. Drives me nuts.

Well they have a habit of hanging around dead and decaying things, so I suppose they pick up germs and diseases, and then land on your plate - leaving the germs etc. behind - but I can't say I have heard of any deaths directly attributed to flies - hmmmmmmm ponderous!!!!
Hi happywanderer, yes, i think mozzies r more of a worry to me Too.
Would like to know though, if flies r they bad. What diseases do they transmit?

I'm not sure how anyone could be worried about flies. They are generally harmless.
My greatest dislike, especially at happy hour, are those that turn up carrying ratdogs and then they want to shake your hand by way of introduction.

I wonder how many people have actually swallowed a fly? By accident of course.
I have and found the only way to deal with it is to drink a full glass of water. No use trying to get it back up.

Swallowed loads of the things - my wife and I rogaine (bushwalking looking for 'control' points using just a compass and map). When you're pushing up a hill in sheep country it's hard NOT to swallow at least a few while you are panting away :)

its the mozzie bites that do it for me - I have the sweetest mozzie blood in the Universe, despite UV lights outside the van and repellant spray. Then I itch and scratch for days. Best anti itch is an anti-histamine tablet like Clarintyne (or any other cheap chemist brand) and a cream called Dermind Soft which had 1% cortinsone in it - but it on about an hour before bed and you wont be scratching all night. Apply thinly and get the soft cream so it spread easily (comes as a cream and an ointment). Cheap as if you can get to Chemist Warehouse (about $4 a 30g tube) but about $15 elsewhere
what do u think.

It is not the flies you have to worry about at your BBQ. It is the eastern brown stealing your best ever cooked sausages.

Gday...
Despite the potential danger of the diseases carried by flies - they have never been high on my list of fears.
Although, I do cause their little lives to be quickly terminated when they get into my 'space'.
These sites will help to get you fearful -
