hi I'm looking for some tyres for our Toyota coaster. The ones on it are hankook 6.50R16 LT. when I look online or ring tyres places I have no luck. Most I see have a 195 or 205 etc in front of the 6.50 R16..... Tyre conversion guides don't help much either.
can anybody please help me find out the correct number I should be looking for?
Ive measured the "width or thickness" across the top and it's about 150 cm..
Hi Caliban, try the site tire size.com I think you may be able to source what you are looking for there. The size you quote is obviously an old imperial size. The 6 represents 6 inches 50 is the percentage of profile followed by the rim size in inches. It looks like later model coasters have wider rims. Perhaps there is a coaster forum or group you could contact for information exchange.

6.5 X 16 diameter (not low profile LT tyres)
see this link, not sure how good they are but they are available

That is not correct.
6.50 R 16 means the tyre is 6 1/2"wide. It is a radial tyre with a 100% profile and fits a 16"rim. This is an imperial size.
It is likely that a 7.00R16 may be OK and there are likely to be metric sizes that will suit as well.
Try Michelin.
Cheers,
Peter
