Hi guys and ladies.. Myself and Elaine have just joined Grey Nomads, and have a question... We have a 5th wheeler (Crossroads) and are looking at recovering the two seater sofa bed, but how do we remove it from the van...? Can anyone assist please... Thanks. Kevin

Yep usually it is out the largest window, remove the window then the lounge, same in putting back. Had to do with a Fridge.

We have a Crossroads and the sofa will come out.
Admittedly we removed the bed section to make more storage space, which made it lighter.
I think the only window it would fit through would be the rear, which would be a major job.
We also replaced the recliners. The back comes off and fits in relatively easy.
Cheers.

Have you had a look to see if the back comes off. I have bought lounges that have arrived in pieces and also our recliners that came in boxes. Good luck, it will be worth it.

Thanks Patto, we have the same model as yours by the looks of things, my two recliners also have backs that can be removed, which was handy, as we have just laid new vynal. I rang Crossroads this morning, and seem to think the back of the sofa comes away, ut be buggered if I can see how.. Don't really want to take the window out at this stage... But mate thanks for the input into this debarcle....
How are you enjoying your 5th wheeler, and where have you travelled..?

We brought ours in Qld, got the Silverado in Melbourne, then dragged it across the desert back to Perth, since then we have done a few small trips away, but nothing too big... As I work away, and at present cannot enjoy her. But the plan is to hit the road full Time and go round Aust. Like we all should be doing... I would like to take it over to Tassie for a few months but I hear it's not cheap on the ferry... But it's a great life if you are on the road I guess like you guys. Tell me, have you had much hassle getting into some parks... Although we are planning on a lot of free camping, but again I guess we may be limited with where we can go...
