Good news David, hope they got it where the fires are as well. Would have helped for sure. Would also sort out if your van has a leak.
Keep Safe.

Started raining in Sheffield at lunchtime yesterday, with buckets of rain and thunder and lightning. Not sure how much we've had as haven't put up the rain gauge yet and BOM site is not saying how much we've had, but for a guess I'd say about 100 mm so far and not showing any sign of letting up. Launceston has had floods. Camper van involved in accident near Deloraine - hope it's not one of our forum members. Fires up around Temme not getting much of the rain though, by the sound of it. ..... Val

Unfortunately it is not broken yet - it takes more than a week of torrential downpours or flooding to break a drought and many other factors such as rainfall deciles, evaporation, cloud cover etc are taken into account. Having worked in the Bureau though not in climate section, I know that declaring a drought broken can take a lot of financial assistance away from farmers but for sure they'd prefer the rain than the 'assistance'.
I wish them luck.
Good Luck.
