A quick question like a lot of people on this forum I am new to buying caravans and I have seen a 2007 Ranger Grand Tourer for sale which is full frame complete with double island bed solar panel and deep cell battery and a heron air conditioner for $17490 but to me that's sounds cheap. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? I looked on the internet and I can't find any info on them. I have attached a couple of photos of it
We are also looking for a new caravan, and after searching online and in yards for months and months, it seems caravans without toilets/shower/hot water are selling quite cheap second hand.
Of course we are wanting to go from one without all that to a new one with ensuite etc. and finding it an expensive exercise...
Oh well, it's only money!!
Regards,
Brian

Hi David
First of all welcome to this website mate I hope we all can make you feel at home here
Looks like a nice van mate the inside looks like new
I think it would be a good buy, I could live with it for sure
If you have any doubt's over the van let a caravan repairer have a look at it before you sign on the dotted line
Best of luck with it
Cheers John

as stated reason it sounds cheap is because it doesn't have ensuite if you stay in caravan parks not a problem if you wanted to free camp a portaloo an shower tent/an 12 volt hand pump would fix that for about $150
which would be an excellent entry level purchase if it passed all inspections

Ranger are made in Moorebank NSW - He also makes a lot of vans for other Caravan dealers to affix their decals, etc. From the photo's it does look like a clone of the Jayco Discovery and I would guess it's asking price is spot on for it's age since it doesn't have shower and toilet fitted (should be porta potty under front of bed in cupboard). It doesn't appear to have water heater - does it have a battery fitted or only the transformer from 240 to 12volt.
I know their previous factory production manager very well and happy to call him, his wife and adult kids close friends - I do know that in 2007 they were building a top quality unit but it would boil down to how it has been maintained. Go for it.

Think they shut up shop a few years ago.

The factory is still there although I think they now mostly do modifications and repairs.

Looks a great layout inside, yes could be hard to trade in one day but you could always use it for an extra bedroom after your travelling days are over or if you want to update to an ensuite model later on.
