Get a piece of string and measure it! - How long will the reduced oil prices from OPEC will last? It is basically a monopoly situation and they will charge whatever market will bear. On my last trip across August 2014 I had to pay $2.06/litre for diesel, yet "only" $1.50 in Perth - Seriously, expect to pay at least 25cent premium on top of Perth prices.

Diesel was anything from $1.60 to $1.80 in last week November - varied from road house to road house and the dearest at that time was Border Village.

If you have Wikicamps try their fuel app.

We heard a rumor some time back that an accountant owns the 3 servos. after Norsemen heading east. Principal is they will get you at 1 of them. We used jerry cans that spanned us past the expensive areas mostly, had to top up at the border enough to get to Ceduna - nundroo was cheap when we went through but that was nov 14. Best of luck on your trip

You're being far too generous with a 25 cent premium. IMHO its more to the tune of a minimum of 50 cents and sometimes more. In November 2014 we paid $1.95 a litre for petrol at Balladonia, then $1.45 at Norseman and then were blown away when we got to Perth where prices were less than $1.00

We did the same. In November 2011, Nullabor village was $2.12 for diesel, Eucla was $1.95.

Hi, I did the trip east in October 2015 & as stated before the same bloke owns the Roadhouses from Nullarbor west, I heard it was 4 of them he owned, so anything between Nundroo & Norseman will be the dearest. I also did this on LPG/ULP. Norseman- LPG 109.9/ ULP 145.9 Madura Pass - LPG 134.0/ULP 182.0 Eucla - LPG 130.0 Nundroo - LPG 102.9
As I don't use diesel I didn't take much notice but I think it was similar to ULP give or take a few cents. Managed with LPG most of the way, just used ULP occasionally, had a massive tail wind most of the way so was great. That may give you some idea but as someone said it changes that much that it could be 10/20 cents a litre difference.

I really cannot see the point in trying to avoid these roadhouses on the Nullabor despite them charging over the top for fuel. Without them crossing the Nullabor would be suicide with no chances of mingling with your fellow man etc. They may be there to make a quid but show me a business anywhere that is not in it for a quid.
If you don't support them they simply shut up shop and for the whole crossing you are only going to save maybe $50 less what the fuel container cost etc.
My feelings only.
Good luck

Gday...
I agree Denis (hako) .... and besides, it's a bloody sight cheaper to cross the Nullarbor than Bass Strait.
.......... and the Nullarbor crossing is a damned lot more interesting too
cheers - John

I have travelled the nullarbor on many occassions. I have always noted that Border Villiage to bethe most expensive. I am all for supporting locals but notby way of excessive pricing. A coffee or drink fine, but prices of petrol that high can be avoided by careful planning. Then again go to cape york or do the canning stock route. There you find enterprising locals charging $3 per litre for opel fuel!

Slightly off topic but here in Ballarat Victoria, I got diesel for 92.9 cents per litre yesterday with a Safeway 4 cent voucher.
