We've recently been contacted by Birdlife Australia asking us for permission to use the photo we use as our avatar on this forum for the front cover photo of a soon to be published book. We said YES. A dozen of our images are being used on a US travel website that brings American birders over to Australia on tours. They asked for permission. We said YES. www.aviandiscoverytours.com
An American magazine is currently using one of our bird images in its advertising. We're really enjoying our retirement, traveling & wildlife photography. We make no money out of it but it's nice to get some recognition for our efforts. Who said oldies are useless?

The American magazine should acknowledge the source of their photo. Bit rude that they don't. Drop them a line.

Moral is if you don't want your photos reproduced then put a water mark across them. The watermark does not detract much from the pictures on a forum but it shows up that someone is thieving them when you get a good reproduction like glossy brochures

We deliberately don't put a copyright mark on our images, we're not interested in making money out of them. As long as people ask our permission we're happy for them to use our photos. That's what this post was all about. We're delighted that they're being put to good use by other people.
