Saw on the new this evening that the New Spirit snapped her rear end tie up ropes and crashed into the pier and gantry used for loading. Wonder if an GN's were waiting to board ? How long she will be out of action ?

Gday...
Because of damage to the gantry apparently they are unable to disembark passengers and vehicles. No idea yet when will be able to.
Obviously, they can't load outgoing vehicles and passengers yet .... extended parking required now

Good question. I am booked on Sunday. I hope all is restored before then. I am sure it will be.

Keep an eye out starboard side Mike and hold on tight if you see a big lump of ice
You will need to look out port side on the way back.

for those stuck on board its a free cruise going nowhere.........lets hope they had enough cabins to properly bed down all those on board or paid for on-shore accommodation. They would have insurance to cover incidents like this.

Their website doesn't give any info at all re the damage or time to repair but trying to book a passenger only trip from Melbourne to Davenport indicates no sailing until sunday.
