When in my local Aldi store yesterday I commented to the cashier "I'm really going to miss Aldi when I move to Tassie". "Not for long" she replied - "they are starting up in Tasmania in September". .... Val

When I read the tittle of the post, I thought WOW they are finally going to build a bridge to the place.
Bugger no such luck.
Aldi is OK but not as good as a bridge would be.

Aldi in Tasmania in September means that we should get one in Darwin about 2020.

Hi all;
Great news for Tasmanians, to be able to go to there local Aldi store. For me, we have to travel 100's of Kms from home to the local Aldi store. We live in Mildura and have a popuation of over 75000 people and NO aldi. The nearest is Swanhill, Bendigo or Horsham. When traveling back home we always do a big shop at Aldi and stock up.
Tired of being riped of by the big 3 supermarkets, and need Aldi to shake them up ( price wise ), so good luck Tassie, we just want our own 'Aldi store'.

Yeah a bridge would be a challenge, how about cheaper ferries?
