I notice posts and stories being shut down when they are just starting to warm up. Why can't the Moderators just remove the offending comment and let the discussion continue? I don't sling MUCK, I just try to give back what I get.
The "DRIVING OVER THE AGE OF 70! is a good example. I'm not sure if I am pushing my luck, but time will tell.

We've noticed that YOUR method of retaliation to criticism is contributing a considerable amount of the muck slinging posted on this Forum. There wasn't so much muck around when this Forum was a ''Simmo Free Zone''.

Simmo, you rarely respond to the topic being raised. you respond to the poster in an antagonistic way.
You seem to enjoy arousing hostility. (Very destructive)
Have a good day, Pete

Since the first day Simmo arrived on this forum, he's contributed nothing of any substance. The silly old fool has only ever been out for a stir and to tell us all how great he used to be. Time to find a new home.
Looks like a great weekend coming up........ Might get the missus to make some piklets coz I have never been a fan of popcorn..........
But back on topic............... Why?
Mods rule ....its a thankless task...... Believe it or not....... We get a fair bit of leeway in here than many other forums ....
No idea Why ....

Cindy shut this one down last time and I refrained from comment and it's now time to put it to bed
There seems to be a lot of people who are in agreement and I am another one if you can't say something nice to other members then I believe you need to say nothing, I am aware there are about 2% who like to stir the pot, which means there are 98% who don't think it's appropriate.

Yes Izabarack, the message I am getting is there are a lot BORED GNs out there that can't write something interesting, so they sit back waiting for something they can bag. Please re-read my original post and explain to me, what was so Incredibly Horrifying about it. There must be something bad to stir up all these Mature experienced people. There that should get it to 800 replies.

This subject reminds me of my late Father's expression when anyone used to annoy him.
'Give them enough rope and they will hang themselves'.

ps. I'm now 72 and my father died when I was 18, the expression continues to stand the test of time.

Sill waiting for just 1 person to tell me what I said that is so HORRENDOUS...........Ah, maybe the 2% thing has something to do with it, and 2% should be 10%.

I notice many of your subject topics start with comments similar to this:
My last word - my final say - just one more time - here I go again - my last time - here I go again etc.
What are you going to put on your tombstone?
I finally taken my last breath - or have I???

Simmo the problem probably stems from your not fully understanding the impact of the written word - particularly in places such as forum - where the reader will always read it "in their own voice" rather than in the voice of the poster.
The greater majority of the posts you begin seem to be written provocatively - insomuch already telling the reader you expect someone to "stick it up you".
Add to that, you so often use HUGE TYPE ANDMULTIPLECOLOURS that seem to indicate that you DEMAND attention.
It is just so unnecessary, mate.
People, cannot use any inflection you may have had - such as humour or irony or wit and therefore what you may, or may not, have been saying gets lost in the 'interpretation'.
Add to that the pointed, aggressive response that so often is returned to ANYONE who you think, from YOUR point of view, is bagging you.
I concede some responses from some posters are provocative to you ... but as I said, you seem to initiate the 'mood', and even beg for response, from the beginning of your posts.
Settle down, and just don't begin your posts with large type, belligerent, provocative words. There are many of your posts that have been informative and good to read. Unfortunately, those are in the minority.
When I posted this definition earlier, I hoped you would see it and it would bring a big grin to your face. I am sure you love the reputation it speaks of
