Did anybody watch Wins, "A Current Affair" tonight and the story on flash Caravan Parks? I thought this looks interesting, until I heard the prices like $400 to $450 per night for cabins, and $100 to $120 per night for powered sites.
I have seen signs outside travel agents like, $500 to $600 all up including plane fairs from Perth for 4 or 5 nights in Bali. That makes $400 for one night in a cabin seem a little steep. I am curious to hear other peoples thoughts. Also with cabins you usually have to be out by 10am or 11am, and in Bali you get 24 hours for your hard earned bickies.

Hi Keith,
X 2.
Some people just never learnt the value of a dollar.
The old additive they say. A fool and his money are soon parted. I grew up the hard way.
Some folks say, but you have it all.
Plus the body and mind burnt out along with it to boot.
Hey Jim

Same old story ....... Supply an demand....... Peak seasons in popular places will always attract a premium ."........BROOME
However peak season dosent go alll year round so perhaps an owner is justified in charging a bit more when he can to survive the rest of the year............
And dont get me started on wages and penalty rates.....
EDIT ..... I love this function....
if you have not seen the story Possum3 has put up a link in ... I digress........ So off you go....
i could have copied it to here but thats to easy .........

Bushpie, I wasn't recommending Bali as I have never been there, and it would come after good old Oz in my list, I only used it as a comparison in the Value For Money stakes.
Cheers......Simmo.

Well - last night we camped on the Nullarbor - right on the cliffs (well back a bit) of the Great Australian Bight - spectacular view on waking up this morning - cost - NIL!
Tonight, in the White Gate Camp near Head of Bight - huge flat gravelled area - cost - NIL!
Know where I would rather be - nowhere else!

What's a fishing trip cost these days on a Charter Job Aus Kiwi. Not Cheap I suppose.
Used to Charter Sailing Boats in NZ years ago. Three of us who could not own our own boats. $NZ 100 a day for a weeks sailing by ourselves, and we loved it. Hand back to the charterer at the jetty and not have to worry about even cleaning it (we did though)
I must say that If I can afford it I will do it. The cost is the cost. It's the individuals choice how they spend their money to fulfil a holliday. Actually owning a Caravan,Tug, and All the Gear is not exactly a cheap hobby.
