Has anybody used the toilets at the southern cross station in Victoria recently, I have much to my disgust, as the stench of urine was so bad it nearly knocked you out whilst walking along the corridor to reach the actual toilet. pity the tourists who utilise this facility, what an embarrassment to the city of Melbourne. shame on the contractors who supposedly clean this facility.

Lots of these public toilets put a phone number up on the wall to ring if there's a problem.
Ring it, I've had to at other toilets. Been a few years since I've been through Southern Cross.

Gday...
Rod, I reckon you would get more action if you were to let PTV know rather than venting to fellow-GNs who predominantly travel in their RVs.
Unless train travellers actually let PTV know of failures in providing the service/s there is little chance of any improvement/change.
[edit: have you been to the loo at any pub on a Friday/Saturday night .... definitely not a pleasant experience - and given that apparently 32,000 passengers use Southern Cross station each day, it is probably not at all surprising that it might get a bit 'unpleasant' between the cleaning cycle - even if it was hourly.

Maybe the tourists who use them are part of the problem

My wife and I have regularly used the toilets at the said station as we go to the footy in the nearby Etihad Stadium during winter. We have never noticed anything out of the ordinary there. We travel to and from there from Tarniet and I actually think that station and its facilities are pretty awsome.. just saying.....

The last time I went into the toilets at that station, which was a long time ago, I was standing at the urinal having a pee when I heard ''Psst''. I turned around & there was a cubicle with the door slightly open & a blokes hand beckoning me to join him in the cubicle.
There was no-one else around. I quickly finished my task with a few stray drops running down my trouser leg & headed for the door. Funny now, but not at the time. Bloody perverts!
