Todd River in flood Wow that will certainly give the area a good clean up which is long over due . Pity the inland will now be littered with tonnes of beer cans and beer wrappers.

My son lived in Alice about ten years ago, and the Todd was flooding then, he had to go another way to work, because he couldn't get near the Gap..Something to say isn't when you have seen a rarity like this. Thanks for sharing.

On my last trip to The Alice several years ago, I had great difficulty in getting a good uncluttered photo of the then dry river bed.
Almost every shady tree had a group of people sitting around in a circle passing shiny bags & there was a steady procession of kids back from the shops with little white paper bags of goodies.
Then we would retreat to our van & sit around under the awning at happy hour & pass round glasses full of the yellow & red stuff plus plates of goodies. The topic of conversation was often the terrible scenes in the Todd River.
Perhaps the crockery & glasses makes the difference. But then we did clean up our mess before moving on.

Hi all, new in here. I was in Alice in 93 for the Fire Brigades golf championships and it flooded. We were standing with a beer watching the Police 4x4 at night driving the river bed moving people before the expected water rise.
