We are going to be away traveling in the caravan for a few months next year,we normally get our son to look after out mail,(he then e/mails us the details on bill to be paid etc)but he is away and unable to do this.
We want to be able to at least pay our bills while we are away, using the iPad.
But has anyone got any ideas on how to go about this.

We take the last bill of Electricity, Gas, Water & Phone etc. into the PO & put a large credit on each one. Enough to cover them for 3 months or more. You can prepay any type of bill if you take the old one in & pay extra on it. We take our old bills away with us so that if needs be we can pay extra at any PO.

most utilities like power and water and govt depts. (like vehicle rego and drivers license) can be paid by phone or through your Bank a/c online (Bpay usually). We've done this for years now rather than stand in a queue or use snail mail and a cheque. Change our passwords every 6 mnths and never been ripped off. Theres not many places that you cant electronically pay bills to nowadays.
Most of these companies will also bill you by email, rather than posting them to you

We have changed all our bill to direct debit , We receive our bill by email and when the bill is due the bank does a direct debit no more bills in the mail .

I either have direct debit, bill via e-mail and pay via bPay or bank transfer, or pre-pay. Pre-pay can be a pain but just think that we you get home, you shouldn't have any outstanding bills. Modern technology is marvellous stuff if you use it to your advantage.

Yes! A very quick easy answer to the problem, we adopted this practice years ago and have found it be foolproof, the bank sends an automatic reference that the payment has been made.

Direct debit is the way to go if your utilities company does it. If not, then changing notifications to email will mean you don't have to wait for a bill through the mail. But another option is to get mail re-directed to someone else you trust (there's a significant discount for Seniors card holders) - when you get to a town with a post office, you can get your mail sent on to the PO and pick it up from there. You can also get your mail held, but I'm not sure how this works for sending it on to another PO. Your rig looks SO cool :D

Yes we like our setup, I made the caravan specifically to be on the 33 ford,It has electric brakes and all the stuff so the old ford tows it easy and safe.only weighs 760kgs with out clothes and food.
