We are considering having the Vantech coating applied to our van and would like some feedback on whether or not it warrants the cost and how long it lasts. I have done a search on the topic but there aren't any posts on this site. Appreciate any comments.

Gday...
This has been asked before Gus ... and is quite often asked as people seek information on the product.
Hopefully my reply on that thread, and that of others, will be of some use to you.
Cheers - and happy travelling - John

One of the best things I did to the van during the ordering process. The end result is great and makes things so easy to clean and not as often either.
Just keep in mind once applied it's difficult to apply stickers or decals, you need to clean that small section with a cleaning agent, Vantec can supply or recommend a product.

WOFTAM, you can do the same thing with car cara products from your local auto supermarket.

I had Vantech applied to our van when new, this year it sat unused through winter, and it looked terrible, but it was so incredibly easy to clean, far better than any car polish I have found.
I would not hesitate to have it applied again.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. A mate also had it done and he is very happy so off we go next Thursday to Vantec, shame about the cost, $1450.

Gday...
Perhaps look at it this way, Gus - $1450 as a % of the total price of the van's purchase price is not much to pay..
You will probably pay that much for two years of comprehensive insurance, that hopefully you will never have needed.
From my experience with Vantec on my van, it was 2% of the purchase price of my van, and has proven to be extremely good value for money.

My caravan is 8 years old and has been. Out in the weather all the time , just now I can see it need maybe a polish has it not cleaning has good has in the past , but it has not faded but decals are fading ,so the treatment is great but it would have a use by date

We had vantec put on our motorhome a couple of months ago, it's great , never looked so good and so easy to clean. Can't recommend highly enough.

The forum's search facility is very poor, especially when the spelling is incorrect. Google is much better:
Vantec Caravan Protection uses a coating applied to the exterior bonded aluminium or fibreglass finish of caravans. The sealant with UV-resistant resins is claimed to be maintenance-free. It acts as a barrier to airborne pollutants and makes cleaning of grime and insects easier. The exterior treatment, available for caravans only, starts at around $600 (more for larger vans).
Why would the treatment be (or have been) for caravans only? Why not motorhomes as well?

I have used Macguires xtreme polish and it works a charm at fraction of the price

I have had Vantech for about 7 years now ... and provided a response on this thread http://thegreynomads.activeboard.com/t60846141/vantec-protection/
Hopefully my reply on that thread, and that of others, will be of some use to you.
