My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the bottom of the statue ( not the top) on our silver wedding cruise 26 years ago.
I don't think I would have made any attempt to catch the tools if any were dropped, surprised no safety attachments to the tools and people still standing below.
It look even higher when standing at the bottom.

My God, they didn't close off the viewing platform with those guys above them.
Makes me wonder how they built the statue in the first place.
