One of your options is Ken Tame insurance.
I am with them myself and luckily have had no need to claim so cannot comment on that side of things. I pay quarterly at no extra cost so that helps.
The PDS gives a comprehensive coverage I am told is up there at the top of the options you can get. You have to belong to the CMCA to be eligible to get the insurance.
They do send a magazine monthly that I think is a fairly good club magazine and also gives you the ability to use their GeoWiki camping site App.
I have been happy with the price and I am sure their are other companies which also do MH insurance and hopefully will post them so you can do some research and pick one that suits you.
I think CIL and Apia do MH insurance but don't quote me.
Good luck in your search.

We've insured Fried Rice, our Trakkadu, with Ken Tame since new in 2010. Have had two smallish (under $1000.00) claims and one about $7000.00.
All were handled courteously, promptly and with no fuss. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to any business I've dealt with.

Our Mercedes Sprinter Campervan has been insured with Apia since we purchased it 2nd hand 3 years ago for an agreed reducing value each year & have been happy with the premiums & pay by the month for no extra cost. We have had no claims so of no help to you there. We have our house & contents, 4wd, car & yacht all insured with RACT but only found out after agreeing to purchasing the Campervan and going to get a bank cheque to pay & organise insurance that RACT would insure caravans but not commercial size vehicles like campervans & motorhomes & they advised us to contact Apia which we did & they efficiently organised a cover over the phone. We then joined CMCA with the idea of getting a quote from Ken Tame Insurance the 2nd year but have stayed with Apia. At least you are better organised than us & allowing yourself more than an hour to look at insurance alternatives lol.

We are with Ken Tame. An extra benefit is that they organize tow/retrieval if you break down. At the time we got our motorhome, this was the only way of covering same. Since then, the RACV has introduced a heavy vehicle coverage as an addition to their Total Care package (extra cost) and this also covers retrieval. We have taken this cover but stick with Ken Tame insurance anyway as I have found them great to deal with for issues like "how do we insure our tow hitch?" We have not had any insurance claims with them, but did have to call on their help when we first had the Coaster and the Driver filled the tank with petrol! They organized a tilt tray - on a Sunday, quite quickly and efficiently.
Another benefit is that KT do agreed value insurance - you need to get a fresh valuation done every two years for this. We had Coaster revalued last year for this reason.

I suggest for a comparison you contact WVRC, it is operated by Winnebago RV club but any MH owner can join, ie, you don't have to own a Winnebago/Avida motorhome.
They have a special insurance scheme with CIL insurance and being with WRVC gives more personal contents cover and some other benefits.
I am a member of WRVC & CMCA but as it happens my insurance is through the WRVC.
Al I am suggesting is compare both before deciding.

My Motorhome is insured with MHIA (Motorhome Insurance Agency). We got a quote from Ken Tame but MHIA was much cheaper and benefits IMHO are greater. So far we're very happy. Had a broken windscreen in Perth, contacted them and they just sent us to Windscreen O'Brien who fitted a new windscreen. I was a completly pleasant experience. The policy also has cover for Accident, Breakdown and Medical emergency for the driver anywhere in Australia which covers transport of the driver and all passengers and the motorhome itself back home if needed.
We also live in a 'Lifestyle' village and our home is also insured with them (Manufactured Home Insurance Agency). Contents cover on our motorhome is very important to us, with Ken Tames quote we would have had max $3k contents cover over that was too expensive. But with MHIA we have $5k contents plus using our Homes Contents cover we use its $5k Portable Contents cover to insure our Laptops, Phones/IPads, Cameras so effectively we have $10k contents cover when we're travelling. Also cover on both the House & Motorhome are at agreed value.
Hope this helps.... Steve.

Daughter is insured with CIL or correction was we were up at Inskip point last school holidays for a number of reasons her camping trailer was the last one evacuated at about 2:30 in the morning....apparently if she had lost her camper and stuff CIL would not have covered it because it was due to a subsidence. - although her camper was safe she thought she'd check up on it and that was the advice given. I have just raised the question with my van insurer QBE who have been excellent with my two minor claims in the past.....this was the reply I got "I have referred your query to our Higher Specialist for further review. We will get back to you for update once we receive feedback. " So I am still waiting to hear ... keep you posted by the way QBE was cheaper for me with a lower excess and same coverage as most others.

Sensational team this, 'Grey Nomad Family', is off the charts, and that's not the 60's/70's 'Rock n' Roll', one's either.
First post was at 4pm yesterday, scatchin around just after 5am while my Queen was still piling on the beauty sleep, not that it's required, she always goes over the top.
Oops digressing a tad anyway kicked over the laptop and bang 9 chirpy new and muchly appreciated, 'GN family', members had been busy at work paying it forward', this country this world is a wonderful place.
Who wouldn't want to be alive, oops again digressing, as Con the fruiterer would say, (Greek acsent), 'Doesn't mattter'.
Anyway.........Anyway
Also rough insurance prices for similar/same but different rigs would also help, one day soon we will be able to pay it forward.
2011 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Jayco Conquest 24ft, Km's 14500.
Cheers again to all

When I first Insured the OKA, I sought the views of a personal friend who is an insurance broker.
He could have placed the insurance with several different insurers, but recommended Ken Tame as being the best for us. He had no access to placing insurance with them, so made nothing from his recommendation.
That was 12 years ago and I have no intention of changing.
Read the fine print very carefully. All insurances are not the same. If you can not understand the fine print, seek the advice of someone who can.
Cheers,
Peter

Avida WRV offer their members insurance through Broker Arthur Gallagher ..... It is a good policy and they have taken the best from Allianz through Ken Tame, CIL and the other insurers and come up with a policy specially designed for members and underwritten by CGU insurance ......for example - contents cover of $10,000. It is available for Winnebago and Avida Motorhomes up to 15 years old and others up to 10. And yes, you have to join the Avida WRV Club to be able to get the insurance. i took the time and checked all the available policies and the worst I think is NRMA who do it on a standard motor vehicle policy with no contents ....
regarding the subsidence mentioned In another post ..... Sadly it is a standard exclusion in all types of policies so there would have been no cover regardless of who insured it. Just like Terrorism is excluded ...... It is clearly noted in the policy wording.
Cheers

One thing I would like to point out re Ken Tame insurance, we also have had insurance with them for about 6 years. But when we had our Inverter blow up, it was not insured, because it is computer controlled evidently. We cannot insure it as a separate item iether, so if it happens again we have to pay the price which is a few thousand bucks. So all computerised equipment it seems is not covered. Please check your policy with whom ever you decide to it is not a nice surprise needed.
