My sullage hose has for the first time after many years gotten really stinky, and I mean STINKY!. It is one of the black ribbed types.

Hot water and some cleaners down the sink haven't really helped.

It sat in rolled up in the boot for a week, and now the boot pongs too. soapy water and glen 20 made only a small difference.

Need some suggestions, or is it that once the stink happens you need to throw it out?

Could be time for a new hose John, they are pretty inexpensive.

Sullage hose in the boot???

I store mine under the van, have access to 1 side of the hollow chassis rail and have added a length of 50mm conduit along the outside of the chassis rail with clips. So from the front double the hose in half and poke both ends into the chassis and conduit  respectively, all the way and then secure the front  (middle section) with a bungee  strap.

No stink, no need to drain and easily out of the way. twice the length of the van so plenty of length as required.

We use ours full time, always rinse out before storage and never had them smell in nearly 4 years !

We have 4 pieces of hose and only use one or two together sometimes so rotate as required.

Ours is 8 years old. Bought a new one a couple of years ago and haven't used it as yet.

We back flush our hose with ordinary tap water and shake it a bit. I now have a click on connector that goes straight onto a hose to make it easier.

Alternative buy a new one as someone has noted.

I always flush mine out after use,and store them under the van two five meter lengths never smell eight years old.

I purchased a black waste water hose that was smooth on both the outside & inside ...  15 years ago.  I think that it is readily available in light purple.

I store it in appx 7 meter lengths in conduits under the van.  It would probably develop kinks if I tried to roll it up.  Joins together with short lengths of conduit.

Before returning it to the storage conduit after every use, I wash it thru with water from my van's 'A' frame tap until it runs clear & then wipe the outside as I feed it in to the conduit.  Still as good as new.

Never had any pong.

ps.  For several years I also used it to distribute grey water around the yard at home base.  Forgot to load it one trip so I got the cheapest ribbed one that I could find & when I got home I used that one for the home base grey water.

Use Nappy San, hang your ribed tube through a tree /cloths line and fill it up from a bucket using a small funnel from the $2 shop. two hours later brand new.

Had similar problem after away for 2 mths  tied drain hose up on rear bumper at floor level and run some water in, poured about half a cup of Mr Mussle (woolies) down each plug hole and add more water and leave good half hour. lower drain hose and flush does a good job.  I cut my black hose into three and only use what is required.

If it stinks, toss it.

What a $20.00 a length why bother going through the cleaning process if it starts to smell You could block the end and fill it with a solution of bleach and water then block the other end and after 30 minutes or flush it but ask yourself is it worth the effort
