On channel 9's Current Affair the other evening an old guy was shown whose caravan had been stolen. He'd been camping at a truck stop for a few months in Melbourne's western suburbs.
CCTV caught the thieves on camera towing his van away! Poor bugger was devastated. Jayco's head honcho Gerry Ryan gave him a new van. It brought tears to my eyes to see his overwhelming delight and happiness. He's going to set up camp on a friend's property in the country somewhere. He said Jayco has a great big heart helping somebody they don't even know.
C'mon all let's send a big thank you to Jayco eh? (Yes they can afford it and tax deduct it via advertising,so what? It's a gret gesture!)

we all know that companies that help out people in distress that the company can get free publicity helping them out are not doing it for any other reason than for advertising, and as sheeds says, they get it back getting on prime time TV news at the cost of another caravan they can claim back from the ATO
But nonetheless each person on the receiving end benefits, just as this old (mature) guy did. I don't think I would go so far as to write telling Jayco or any other likeminded company how great and wonderful they are though - especially RV makers when they screw the rest of us over with over priced, poor assembled products

Good onya jayco. If they can help someone this generously then i am all for their free advertising. This was a good thing to do. Who cares about there business side of things. if i buy another van it will be a jayco and not because of this but because i like aluminium frame and i like jayco vans. Rocket n strop
