This week in Salzburg, Austria are celebrating 50 years of the movie Sound of Music I will not go in to details about the movie as I am sure there would not be a living soul alive whom has not seen it, maybe a blind person.
We are at present staying in Austria at our son and daughter in laws home and looking for things todo during the week and this was a put to us as one.
We are looking for suggestions with things to do we have 3 weeks left to fill in before returning to our home oin Brisbane. Ralph

I recently visited a small village in the lake district not far from Salzburg & there was able to go to the church used in the wedding scene in the Sound of Music. Very ornate. Maybe that would be a nice day out. Cheers alice

About 4 years ago we come over for our first white Christmas ever and spent 3 nights in Salzburg while there we did the Sound of Music tour, one of the attractions for doing the tour was it took us out of the town into the country side for lunch near the church where they got married in the movie.
I do have use of a car but feel a bit reluctant about driving on the wrong side and narrow village roads. We have been very lucky with the weather with a mixed bag of autumn,sunny days, rain showers and now snow up on the alps.
We have about 3 weeks left to enjoy Innsbruck before returning to Brisbane. Hence the question, we may go over to Salzburg to enjoy the celebration, running out of things we would like to do while the young ones work during the week. Ralph.
