Why kill so many Australian Salmon = Fish Kill I count 28 fish on that table.
Take what you can eat and let the rest go. When will they ever learn.

Hey Jim
How do you know from the post that he caught them all himself, also he is 2 under the bag limit, the bag limit in Tassi is 30!

As far as eating goes, they aren't the most sought after Jim, but they aren't bad in a curry or smoked. Actually my dogs used to love them too. Max the male (German Shepherd/Husky cross), would eat them raw, but Georgie, the female (purebred German Shepherd), had to have them lightly cooked in the microwave.
These are on Stockton Beach
The dark patch is a school of salmon, with a few juvenile great whites cruising around them

Hi Hendo,
I did another count. This this time from right to left X4. There are exactly 30 fish on the table. So he / or they is not over.
Still IMO who could eat that many fresh. Yes you would need to smoke em , cause they don't freeze well.
They are a great sport fish on light gear.
They got heavily depleted for the cat food industry years ago, untill they rained in the pro's.
They have made a good come back now.
I don't eat them myself, however I do love to tangle with them.

It's bloody hard not to catch them off the beach here, when they are running. We even get guys saying that something should be done to cull the numbers

Correct dING.
"frozen correctly" being the operative words.

A lot of fishermen would be surprised if they tried salmon treated right, bled and eaten asap as they only freeze well for crab bait.

Yeah don't bother freezing them but we eat them fresh here without complaint so long as you remove the bloodline from the fillets.
Bleed them asap after catch, into the surf it's great attractant for the bigger versions.
