If I ever get a 'dash cam' (which I very much doubt) and get any of the 'snips' get publicised, I will find a way to make sure I get a $1 per view.
So if (when? ... eventually?) I got to see a 'viewable/sellable' incident I could disseminate, at least it would cover the cost of buying the set-up which spent 99.9% of its time just recording, in an incessant loop, hours and hours of boring driving without incident which was useless.
I understand that if you are quick enough and get it to a TV station's news department ya can earn a cuppla hundred $$$.
This video must have had thousands of views - on hundreds of sites ... from Facebook to YouTube and every vanning/motoring forum in Straya.

I was rather impressed with the way the Van stayed in one piece after a roll over, and he also reversed back off the road a bit, good thinking for a wacker that got himself into that situation in the first place ?

we have a quality dashcam which we bought when they were on special with Dick Smith for $170 (usually $220).
About 8 mnths ago we were unfortunate to witness (and record on the cam) a m/accident between 2 trucks and a car in NSW in whch one of the occupants later died.
Later that day we happened to park almost outside a major town with a Ch 7 office. I went in and offered the recording. The office person then said I should sell it to them and suggested $150, which I accepted. I hadnt intended to sell it as I was happy to to show what had happened, but when offered the money, I took it to hep pay for my cam.
I actually bought it to cover me for any insurance claim that I might have to make

I bought one as I used to drive an emergency line workers truck in the field.. On the road all hours and conditions .. After a few close calls and some claims .. Yes the gov vehicle , let's claim.. I bought a cheap dash cam.. Now retired bit it has saved me big time.. Strange most accidents or soft touches was done when parked .. Ladder up pole .. Yet people still try and claim.. So I took it on myself to protect .. Much the same police, ambulance etc are doing now..
The point is he hasn't got van set up properly .. The tail is wagging ...
Seems the driver has NFI what he's doing ..

Only thing I have ever caught noteworthy on my dash cam was a woman standing topless beside the road waving to cars going past. This was in Newcastle.

Dash cam can come in handy as an insurance company or court can not be swayed i brought one and got sick of it falling of the screen (suction cap) so mounted it fixed to the dash (glue tac ) but it fims upside down what a sh-- cheers

A couple of stills from 2 years of dash cam video. I think he meant to go across but turned too soon.
I bought one after nearly being side swiped by an overtaking car on the Hume Hwy at Yass. As it happened I wasn't towing at the time and managed to swerve out of his way.
But had he hit me it would have been a case of "I didn't hit him, he hit me!." But the dash cam would have proved that I was driving straight and was not the one who hit the other car.
