FYI,
Just up the road from Warwick is a small town called Allora.
I was there late last year and was told about the house of PJ Travis.
She was the Author of the Book with Mary Poppins .I know she was born in Maryborough Qld but I was told she was raised in Allora. The house she stayed in was being refurbished and turned into a Guest House and Museum. I don't know if has opened yet though.
Something to see if it interests you.

Take a drive out to Queen Mary Falls - lovely - so many water dragons there, great spot - cafe across the road, then head to Killarney, funny little town, can then do a round trip over past Teviot Falls, keep on going to Boonah, then out onto the Cunningham Hway back to Warwick. Asphalt all the way, though there is a 4wd track, with a few creek crossings.
Also - Lake Moogerah is just off the Cunningham Hway, as is Simpson's Gap, or stop at the top of Cunninghams Gap, go for a walk and see the view from up high - spectacular.
Enjoy the area.

Hey Jules, I think you will find that it is Spicers Gap. The lookout at the top of Spicers Gap is called "The Governors Chair."
If up there check out the original cobble track built by convicts. The current road bypasses it to help preserve the original.
All very good suggestions though.

Drat - don't know why I said Simpson's Gap - been up to Spicer's often enough, and sat in the chair - do you know why it is called the governors chair?
Apparently one of our governors went up there, and said what a beaut iful chair to survey the scenery.
