We need your help and this includes you even if you are not a resident of WA. Government has given us the opportunity of having our say, so it is up to all of us to speak up. Whilst in general, we agree with most of the proposals in the consultation paper and CMCA will be completing a submission on your behalf.
However, the area which requires your support in responding to Government, is the sections which deal with camping in locations outside of licensed Caravan and Camping grounds.
The following link will give you access to some notes and 2 sample responses which can be used as is, but preferable to personalise it to yourself.
Should you require any further info then please email me on bjmartin@gateway.net.au.
Just remember, if we do not act then we will deserve what is dished up to us.
This is not a time for complacency

Thanks for making us aware of what is happening we all need to support the efforts being made by CMCA because if they put restrictions on free camping in WA you can be sure that other states will follow.

Thanks B. J. You are probably correct about the proposed legislation wandering across the Nullarbor to the Eastern States. These vested interests such as caravan parks totally misrepresent the dollar value that RV's contribute to the economy as they are only interested in their own pockets.
I have sent my response and hope all others on this site follow suit as it only takes minutes - but draconian legislation will be on the books forever.

Yeh, at 48 bucks in Exmouth and 45 bucks in Carnarvon for a shower and S**t, and the greedy buggers want more. Maybe a couple of Muslim terrorists blowing up a few ablution blocks might make them come back down to Earth.
What about Road train drivers having a kip on the side of the road? are the Authorities going to tell them to drive 48 - 60 hrs straight, or give them special treatment compared to the Grey Nomads?
Also Caravaners been driving 8 hrs, and still 4 or 5 hrs from a C/van P/k.

IMO this sort of drivel is not needed in a very important post. Lets keep to facts and sensible comments.

Well it takes a driveller, to know a driveller. You didn't answer either of my questions Re: Road trains and Caravaners.

OK, I made a mistake in so much as I used the word Muslim, and should have used the word Somebody. My error and I apologise unreservedly. As for the rest of my comment everything else stands as I said it.
The last thing I want to do is upset or offend anybody, as stumbling onto this fantastic web site is the best thing for a long time.

I'll be putting my two bob's worth in, but the CMCA doesn't do us any favours by misnumbering the four options in its 'Notes regarding Caravan Parks Legislation' document - the second and third options are both (ii) and the fourth is (iii).

Hi Joe. This was a copy and paste from the Departments document. It must be something in its setup, but I will check it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
With all respects Joe, it is the CMCA through myself as WA State Rep that is getting the message out there.
Cheers

I'm disappointed to see the CMCA attempting to spread their gospel through this forum.
They had their own excellent venue which they chose to shut down a few years ago, and they now seem to do most of their communicating/arguing on the Aussie Motor homers, though I see no mention of this subject over there.
For years the CMCA denied caravaners membership (no motor home no membership.) now I believe there is some form of limited membership available i.e. associate or similar.
While I understand the affect the proposed legislation will have in WA if passed, I'm not at all comfortable with the way the CMCA seems to be attempting to spread their influence by infiltrating Australian online forums.

Hi Santa, this is not the Gospel according to the CMCA. This is a matter for all RV groups and there are some things we need to unite on.

A CMCA member on here said they were considering starting their forum up again, but I know their members are members of several forums including this one and a break away forum started by some of their members.
Has anyone seen this latest main page story from this site? In Qld.
