Yep, I know, a grump for sure but I have noticed heaps of things being posted here in "General" that really have nothing much to do with what this forum is about. Maybe I am wrong but a lot of these threads should be in "I Digress" DON'T YOU THINK
Sorry to sound a grump all But I just had to say something.
Edit....Or "Techies"

I have noticed that too Doug.
WE do have sections in the forum to try to keep similar discussions together and that does work well if people would look at the sections and the explanation before posting.
A lack of moderation does not help matters but Cindy is only one person and trying to run a business and this forum must be a big workload for her.
I would like to suggest she appoint some volunteer moderators who could help to keep things in order for her. I am sure there are a few willing members who would take on the task.
you grumpy, I don't think so mate.

I have noticed this too Doug but trying to keep my mouth shut.
I will say it seems to have got really bad lately with every subforum affected.

Thanks all, for your input. I agree that some topics that have been posted in the ‘General Forum’ could be better suited to other sections. I will move a few threads into the ‘I digress’ forum to keep the ‘General’ forum dedicated, as much as possible, to issues relating to travelling, camping and the grey nomad lifestyle. The subforums were created to help keep similar topics together (at least to some extent) and this makes it easier for people to find and read the kind of posts that they are interested in. Although I understand that it may not always be easy to determine the perfect spot for a post, keeping similar subjects together helps to keep our forum organised and easy to navigate. Thanks for your understanding.

To do that NeilandRaine, the easiest way would have a subforum called Happy Hour.

Totally agree Brickies. Yes that's what I Digress was set up for but me thinks some don't know the meaning of I Digress, hence my tongue in cheek suggestion.

Let's not get too stressed or uptight about this, there are heaps of things we could turn into issues like going off topic and changing the whole intended direction of a post.
folks we are a group of people who love our country and our forum let's give some space to our members especially our new members and seriously I don't think any of us can in clear conscience throw the first stone we have all posted topics in areas where they probably shouldn't be but folks lets just enjoy our fantastic forum and support each other both here and out in the big playground

I Digress: to speak or write about something that is different from the main subject being discussed.

One problem with all this slotting threads into categories, is that 50% of subjects would have grey areas that slot , or begin to slot between the categories. 1/ its hard to choose, 2/ the subject changes through the conversation.
