According to Wikicamps there is a free camp called White Gate Rest Area, intersection of calledTumburumba-Batlow and Old Tumburumba Roads - comments say small, close to road, but okay for overnight. There is also a caravan park in Batlow.

Hi Helen - welcome to the forum - do you have a copy of Camps Australia Wide - lists over 3000 free or low cost camps - where are you heading from and to - also, have you checked out the Free/Budget Camp Spots section on this forum - lots of good stuff there. The cost of it will pay you back in no time, with not having to spend big on caravan parks.
Wiki Camps is an app on smart phone or tablet, which lists a lot of free camps, as well as caravan parks etc. We use the Camps book and Wiki in conjunction, the maps and info in the book, and the comments etc., on Wiki.
We have been travelling about four years, and spend lots of time in free camps, we look for showgrounds as well, as they are mostly a lot cheaper than caravan parks.
