Apex/Lions park in Kimba is excellent value, gold coin donation.
Fraser Station other side of Nullabor is first class but not a freeby.
Make sure to have Wikicamps on your smartphone or tablet.
Don't pass by "Head of Bight" for spectacular ocean views and perhaps whales (not sure of the season?)
Fuel is much less expensive on WA side of the border.
You will get more lots good advice here I'm sure!
Happy, safe travels.
Fried Rice.

Pildappa Rock at Minnippa is terrific, plush's Bend at Renmark , Ramco, right on the river near Waikerie, great sunsets at Domblegabby, Meckering WA, make sure you go to The Big Camera, and many, more are great camps, some with loos, some with dump points, some with water. Get a copy of the Camps Australia Wide Issue 8, worth every penny, along with Wikicamps.
We have just done the trip across and loved every minute of it!

Unless you are stopping for a few nights in one place, I reckon the best place to stop is round about when you have had enough driving. Get a copy of Camps Australia Wide, it has them all in it (there is not much internet across the Bight.) Use CAW or Wikicamps to plan your route and see what camps you are likely to use. Then come back and ask our members if you should dodge any of the ones you flag to stop at.

Iron Knob camp ground, gold coin donation, toilets only. It's run by the locals. Wirrila has a $10 per night for toilet and showers, nice pub and store. Any green area (parks) on your map usually has numerous places to stop. Look out for any tracks that disappear into the bush, potential free camp as long as you have your own facilities
