hi all ,I have just completely emptied my two water tanks underneath the van ,both 95 ltrs..I then went back inside the van and pressed the water level scale ,the 1st said empty the 2nd said full .What is it could it be the sensor in the tank or the scale inside the van .Have any of you had this happen . Just a reminder for you all to clean out the breather pipes that go to the water tanks ,hornets love building their nests in there ,making it hard to fill tanks completely

Float in tank most likely stuck - drive it over a few corrugations and see if it drops to zero

thanks poss ,did not fink of that ,I will have to wait a few weeks till ready to travel to see if that done the job but it has not happened before ,but that probably is the answer to the problem. thankyou...

I would be pulling the sensor out of the tank and cleaning it.
while you have it out press the button again and see what indication you get.
if it still says full you may need to replace the sensor.

Could be a bad connection to the sensor maybe wire not even connected perhaps

thanks kft ,I had a look at the sensor on the tank ,it looks to be in 2 parts ,an inner threaded section that screws into the tank and an outer bit that goes into , that must be the sensor itself, have you worked on these before if so is it just a matter of pulling the outer bit out or do I have to take the hole lot out.

as you undo the outside nut the inner bit contracts so you can remove all of it from the tank.
when you put it back and do up the nut the inner bit expands again to seal the hole.

Sounds like this is the sender you have. The other type have several studs that go straight through the wall of the tank.
