Angiogram found nothing unusual for 66 year old who has never smoked and has had Insulin dependant Diabetes for 46 years!!
Good news I guess. They reckon pain may be from strained muscles, and we still have no answer for my exhaustion after my heat attack and stent placement two years ago.
So, sorta glad and sorta mad!! So, home tomorrow.

Glad to hear the angiogram turned out OK Paul, although it must be frustrating to still have no answers for the exhaustion. I vividly remember my first angiogram and the warm flush that flows from the chest to the pelvic region when the dye is injected - glad they warned me beforehand otherwise I'd have sworn I had disgraced myself! Seven years later I had a triple bypass at the ripe old age of 52, and thirteen years on all is still well on the cardiac front - touch wood!
Cheers

Still in hossie, had CT scan this morningand now a Physician working on pain management. He prodded and poked AND found the sensitive spot!!! this has made matters a little worse so he has put me on an anti inflammatory and a muscle relaxant. Had both those an hour ago and pain much less. At one point coughing, laughing etc was very painful.
Now waiting to see if anything shows up in the CT scan. At least much more comfortable than this morning!!
Trying to get out of hospital on a weekend has eluded me.

Sitting here waiting for the heart surgeon to assess the CT scan and let me out of here. the new meds Doc has been in and very happy and does not want/need to see me again His diagnosis seems to be spot on. Pharmacist has been in with my new written up drug schedule.
So, just chilling until heart surgeon arrives

Arrived home this arvo after I had been forgotten about in hossie this morning!!! Great, nurses and tucker at St. John Of God hospital. Heart all good, chest pain gone and now extra bloody exhausted. Lucky I don't have to turn up to a job!!!! I have an appointment with heart surgeon in 10 days to find out if anything showed up in the CT scan, obviously there was nothing sinister.

Hubby has same medical conditions , insulin blocks the absortion of vitamin B and this can cause exhaustion endocrinologist who treats his diabetes put him on vitamin b injection every three months result huge difference in energy levels. some doctors don't believe it however hubby does he says he can tell when the levels are low, perhaps worth a try.

G'day Paul, I thought I would run my personal experience past you, not suggesting or recommending, just adding to your think tank. If your chest pains continue latter on, and after a million tests and checks they suggest Bypass Surgery, give it a lot of thought.
My Father died of a Heart Attack on his 43rd birthday in 1953 (Year of first Bypass in USA). I had a Triple Bypass in 2002 age 62, and now at 75 am nearly 33 years past my father and travelling along fairly good. I could be wrong, but I suspect my longativity might be due to my complete Engine Rebuild. I might add, I smoked for 46 years non stop and gave them up 18 months before my Engine Rebuild. That was good luck, not good planning.
Good Luck mate, those Grand Kids need you.

Thanks Simmo, I see my heart surgeon this Friday to find out what the CT scan showed. The Angiogram and stent placement two years ago showed all was normal for my age, never smoked, and 44 years of insulin required type one Diabetes. He said this Angiogram showed slightly better.
