Certainly some good driving and maintenance tips on offer, was hoping to learn something new, however "TAYLORS TIPS" were habits I have picked up over a lifetime of driving, so not a lot of changes I can make.
The one tip I do ignore is running the air con in hot weather, its there to be used so why not drive in comfort.

I think that my aircon is running all year around the only times it is turned off
is when my wife drive's the car or the ute

It's quite an unusual choice , hhhmmmmm save gas and drive without the aircon on in 30-35 but drive with all the windows down to save but absolutely incorrect as the extra drag when the windows are down has been proven to be worse than running the air-con so what's the point it's a lose lose situation!!!,!,!,!,!,!,!

Windows up . The aircon compressor is not on all the time ..
Besides modern type compressors don't use as much as they
use to.. If thermostat is set correctly..

Driving without airconditioning means that you're less comfortable and alert, and that in turn means that your'e driving less safely.

All valid points re air conditioning, however my feeling is the other tips in the article would have a far greater affect on fuel economy.

I think the drivers foot has by far the greatest impact how many can drive to lift the foot and roll in to town ( still in gear for safety ) without touching the brake peddle or do the same when coming to a corner, even when I was a young hoon I still knew exactly when to lift the foot to be able to roll upto and around the corner without touching the brakes my old patrol is coming up 24 at Xmas and has done nearly 1/2 mill km I have replaced the front brake pads only twice and the rear shoes once and 4 weeks ago I replaced the clutch bugger first time it has let me down in all those years
Don't put the foot flat to get up those hills and roll in to town it's easy really

Yep, good points Woody, smooth driving certainly has a major affect on economy as well as dramatically reducing maintenance costs.

Im of the opinion that hyperthermia is a far lot worse than a few more sheckles at the pump... be cool..... lol
