It is a beautiful park. First visited in 1971 and again in 2012. It's a tribute to the staff and Western Australia.

Yep it's a great place first visited it back in 1976 did a bit of circle work in front of the lookout tower, visited it again last year but didn't do any circle work this time.
It truly is beautiful, need a whole day to see it though
I just love Kings Park & the view, especially at night, of Perth from the fantastic War Memorial lookout.
I had an office in WA & visited there every 5 weeks or so for a couple of years. I always got the Taxi driver to detour via there on my way from the Airport to my Hotel. A refreshing view after the long flight from Brissy.
Spent many a Sunday afternoon wandering around the gardens, always finding something new.

Gotta agree with that mate. Of all the Capital Cities I seen that is the best & the closest you'll ever get, I also have a video of the lights slowly coming on at night reflecting off the roof of my car. Fantastic

G'day Mike, How about down-loading your Video here, ? It would be well worth seeing ,
I also have an old movie film which I took from Kings Park at the look-out, that was taken way back in 1968 when I first arrived here, "Boy" there have been some changes since then.

They look like Gazania's, not Australian native flowers. They are a South African flower and considered a National Weed in some States.
"eg; Under a recent amendment to the Natural Resources Management Act 2004 (refer South Australian Government Gazette 3: 285-297,15 January 2015), a number of gazania species have been recognised as serious weeds and are banned from sale in South Australia pursuant to Section 177 of the Act."

Thanks KJ ! For anyone visiting don't forget the "Whispering Wall", the curved concrete seats around the Eternal Flame, sit one at each end of one of the two seat sections and whisper etc....

Had to get it out of a 3 hour tape but managed to get a bit of it out. It takes soooooo long to upload from where I am.
What year was this taken, there seems to be a few buildings missing in the film ?
I will have to try and do the same with the old film that I have,
that is if it hasn't gone black with age by now.
There is only about a hundred reels of film to go through so, may take a couple of days to find

That was 93 K.J. Have a look at this one from about a month ago you might be able to pick it, I nearly got lost with all the trees & shrubs there now, 25 years ago, I bet it has changed since 68, it was a miserable day too.
