g'day newbie on site all though my wife and I have had bus motor home for over 10 years have now down sized to 22 foot jayco heritage, we own a 07 auto commodore rated at 2100 which obviously is not going to do the job so we will have to go for a similar year model in 4x4 but because our budget is limited, will have to be looking at one that has high ks we have just done one trip in it were we borrowed our daughters hilux d4d turbo diesel which I was very impressed with so thinking along those lines we are looking at either prado3ltr or maybe 3ltr turbo pajero one of my questions is what year model pajero would I have to look at to get power and economy pros and cons over the pair am only considering diesel , what millage while towing should I expect any advice would be much appreciated .

We have an 07 ex Police Pajero with 221000 ks, want to buy it (Joking). I would love a new Ford Ranger tho
Our old Pajie is still going strong so I can vouch for them.

Isuzu enjoy a good reputation, ATM. Have a look around the local CP and a few free camps. i declare a bias; 3 litre DMax pulling 2200kg, single axle. Under 8 around town and getting about 12.5 on the road. I am gentle on the loud pedal and its an auto box.

Landcruiser 200 series 4.5 lt diesel, 650 Nm of torque. Average under 16/100 towing 3t van. Only thing better is a Chevy or Ford F350.

thanks for reply everyone how many ks would you get out of your pajero while towing and what weight would you be towing cheers] your 200 series is doing better than I thought the hilux I used was getting around 16 to 17 to the 100ks] I'd be over the moon if I could get what your d max is getting but I think they might be out of my price range.

We tow our 21 foot Jayco Heritage behind a 2004 Pajero Exceed which is one of the most comfortable vehicles I have driven and I have owned more than a couple, my Pajero is dual fuel but after talking to diesel Pajero owners towing similar size vans to mine they talk about 15-16 litres per 100 Klm , I will probably replace mine in the next couple of years as it has now done 180000 Klm not sure what to buy with new Pajero and Ford waggon due out soon.
Good luck and I don't think you would go too far wrong in buying a Pajero.

We tow a 21 ft Heritage, legal at 2300kg but not sure, and did a fuel watch on our first year on the road and averaged 16 ks per 100 k. Have a look at the new Ranger they have everything I wish I had, two lighter sockets Anderson plugs, 12 pin trailer plug, usb ports. Lighter socket in the tray and most important to SWMBO is it is comfortable.
And a lot cheaper than a 200 series
