Several months ago I came across this article about a CPAP that uses small hearing aid batteries and has no mask just a nose piece - he was looking for funding then - perhaps he is marketing now. http://www.fundairing.com/

Just had a look at their facebook page. They are currently working to develop a prototype and from there to seek FDA approval to market. They expect to be available for sale mid 2017.
lots of people interested and the fundraising realised a million dollars US plus a bit.

One of the issues with this is that it is intended to be a single use and then thrown out unlike the standard CPAP device. Read through the whole site there are a number of issues raised that may or may not influence your decision to buy one (or many as the case maybe)

I have tried a couple of the so called devices i.e. chin strap and a special mouth guard but the problem is I still breath through the mouth which causes me a problem I have come to the conclusion that the mask is the best option for me. There was a guy on the inventers program with a much smaller mask which came on the market but the distributor went to the wall and now he is trying to get a manufacturer and distributor but the problem is he is now retired and I dont think there is much future there so I think we are stuck with our existing arrangement if the new device is a once only one wonders what the cost will be

looks ok on th models .
I use 'nasal inserts' but th headstrap is as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike.
so I come up with my own headstrap . Ole lady does not mind mask . I don't care
what she wears as long as she wears it . But at times I used to pull th mask off in my
sleep . Yep nasal inserts are ok . How does it stay sealed?
