When you are out there travelling, what is the one spot that you MUST STOP at to indulge in your favourite food. One of our favourites is Grunske's fish and chips by the river in Bundaberg . The fresh and cooked choices are well worth the stop. I hope you can share some of your "To Die For" places so that we can all visit and not miss Out. Good Food with Good recommendations is what I love. ps. Just around the corner is a nice cold Bundy Ginger Beer or Rum. ENJOY.

In any small country town we stop at we keep a keen eye out for a shop that sells homemade jams, pickles, chutney & sauces made by the local ladies YUM!
We love the small goods (ham, salami, stras etc. ) handmade by the Butcher in Hillston NSW.

Hi All.
One of our must stops when going south from Brisbane down the New England Highway, about 4h 30m from home.
Deepwater heading south in NSW. Bakery left hand side freshly made salad rolls, hamburgers, breads and pastries, all very good served with a smile. Ralph.

I crave for good fresh fish 'n chips ( I don't mean hoki or basa or any of the frozen fish ) impossible to get in most parts of NSW so when I'm up Cairns way I always drop into Ocean World Seafood Market best fish 'n chips around, you can choose from the board or pick from the fresh seafood they will clean then cook great stuff! 379 Sheridan St Cairns

Penguin Bakery in Tassy - delicious pies - including scallop - and some of the most unusual slices I have ever seen - i.e. - licorice allsort slice - yummo!
Just had a steak sandwich from Wood Wood Caravan Park shop - about 40k west of Swan Hill (Vic) - scotch fillet, cooked to perfection, we just had fried onions with it, and the best chips we have had for ages. Good little caravan park as well - doing a winter special at $20 power and water, right opposite the river.

The Milton Heritage Bakery just south of the shopping strip on the corner in Princes Hwy NSW South Coast, has 36hr sourdough bread to kill for. I can taste it now.
Just a little north if there you will find the Seaview Hotel on the Strand in Townsville has the best menue and food, yummo. I think I have shares in that place now.
I also have shares in the Soldiers Club in Batemans Bay.
Another one I just thought of is My Weber Q with a big juicy rib steak on the bone on it beside the water at Greens Lake, Central VIC.

Pies. . . . the best I've had in my 65 years of eating them came from Hodges Bakery in Eumundi Qld.
Baker shop between the 2 pubs.
A close second is Corroboree Inn at Corroboree NT.

Hamburger at Mt Molloy (Qld) pub reputably the best in Qld. The seafood platter is unbeatable - cheap, man size and delicious.
If you're staying at the free camp down the road and don't wish to unhook van - Scotty (the publican) will pick you up in his own car and drop you back after having a few sherbets so you don't even have to walk the 800 Meters.

Wondering why so many of those roadside self-service stalls are disappearing - the ones that sell veges, fruit, jams, preserves straight off the land??
Well, you can thank the local shires and councils. Most are now charging these folk $300 a year to be "licensed" !!!
Just another tax..........what does the shire do for the $300 grab - nothing at all - no food quality or hygiene inspection. Just a receipt for another money grab
