If you haven't been to see this yet - make the effort and do so.
You will get to see heaps of genuine Nomads (no doubt some of them are on this Forum) at a famous Nomad site. Would be interested to hear if any of you were in the garden bar when the comedian part was filmed
But it is absolutely brilliant and as well as enjoying the thoroughly professional acting (from people like Michael Katon), the scenery was great and we saw so many places we had been but from a different perspective (sometimes a helicopter) and the script was funny and sad.
Im not a PC type of person, but it was also nice to see the interaction between whites and aboriginals in small towns and how the writers and director dealt with it - it wasn't PC correct, but it showed that skin colour doesn't or shouldn't matter at the end of the day
This is a world class movie and is better than a lot of the rubbish that comes out of the USA. Lets hope it sells and gets watched a lot right around the world to encourage more movies of this caliber to be made

Went with hubby. We loved it and had a tear or two plus a great laugh. I also loved the aboriginee actors that had a laugh at themselves without assuming we are all racist. Good on them and their brilliant acting. Would not be a good story without this or them

I agree - we saw it last week.
Michael Caton gives a perfect performance - he is totally believable as the dying man.
(There is a fair bit of swearing in it - so not suitable for children!)
Like Bruce (and Bev) I saw a number of places that we had been to while in the Northern Territory.

Haha Jim. Cant buy jaffas anymore - we used to do that as kids before they played the Pommie Royal Anthem (or whatever it was called). Just before we got to see a pic of the Queen and most people stood up, we'd let loose we the jaffas and hear people stand on them as they stood up and slip and slid - usually more fun than the movie !!
As for the ice creams - god, theyre too bloody expensive now and if I turfed one, I couldngt run fast enough to get out of the theatre lol
We're thinking of going for a 2nd time to this movie - take the tissues, as its a tear jerker in places
Still waiting for someone to say they were one of the Nomads in the movie and one of the many nomad extras in that part of the movie

I was the bloke standing at the far end of the bar bigB, behind the other bloke that was just out of sight of the camera.
You might remember I talked about this movie briefly in my last update bigB.
As for the Choc Tops, you are lucky if you get a mouth full out of one, they are so small now. I don't bother.

We enjoyed it to Mez, I don't think you will be sorry, I think the only lousy acting was Jackie Weaver, but that is just my opinion.
Don't forget to look for Doug at the Daley Waters pub in the bar scene. Is that the bar Doug, or the one in Broken Hill ?

Doug. With you in this movie, Im surprised it wasn't rated at an R18 - "not suitable for teens and under in case they go into permanent shock from seeing some of the extras"
Your turn.....do I have to see it a 2nd time just to see you at Daley Waters, I presume??
As for the size of the Choc Tops, you'll just have to find "something" much bigger to fill your mouth !!!

I need KFC's back up with this one for sure. I have sent my 4 bestest braves armed with their scalping knives to Canberra bigB and not for Tony.
