We have draws fitted and a slide out for the engle on our Patrol. The extinguisher is fitted horizontally to the slideout in front of the engle - we rarely take the engle out of the 4wd, so it is not in the way.

I have one mounted in the old troopy just above the seat belt anchor on the driver's B-pillar, can be reached from driver's seat if needed.

I have an extinguisher mounted on the floor just in front of the seat and under your legs in both my MG's. Out of the way and quick to access.

Yep they can be a defect if mounted high..
Behind your feet on the floor , easy access and seat bolts can be used to bolt them in place with bracket ..
Not a bad idea to get a fire extinguisher sticker on the window .. In fact work over say you must on work vehicle ..

Don't mount on the transmission tunnel there are under vehicle fluid pipes attached and you may just happen to drill through one then your in big and deep Do Do . The floor on the PAX side is a good location .

On This D-Max and prev 2 x Patrols.
I mount then on rear of centre console box Vertically. (we don't smoke so ashtray loss is not a problem.)
Hi.
Just bought a 1kg extinguisher and am wanting to mount it in my tug.
Where have others mounted them, considering the need for access when the vehicle is loaded.
I have seen some vehicles have them mounted in the "foot-well" on the passengers side.
Is this practical, and if so how / where did you fasten the holding bracket.
Many thanks, KB
Have a look here for some ideas Keiron
