Good advice Noelene, Don't ignore it.
Rat baits are designed to kill.

me with rabbit poison Pindone, I think it works in same way as rat bait, be careful a few parks do use it. On our farm in Nz i discovered an empty 2kg bucket of rat bait, and six dogs all looking at me saying "no it wasn't me" After a very expensive trip to the vet all dogs ended up being ok. Hope everything goes well.

Noelene,
Glad to know your dog your dog is well again. Years ago bought a "dog proof container for rat bait". Oh yeah, not to a beagle. We lived on acreage and had a rat plague, they were eating everything including the insulation under the bonnet of the car and it's tires. OH and I were 100ks away at 9.00 pm when daughter had to take him to the vet, 30 ks away driving a manual for the first time. He survived which vet was amazed about, hadn't cleaned his pen so I could see how much he had thrown up. Never used it again.
