I thought long and hard about where to post this but then thought here is about the best place for now.
I was watching the local news here in down town Townsville tonight and the local constabulary are handing out pub vouchers to drivers with zero alcohol reading when pulled over for a breathalyser test. A thankyou.
Now, I have heard everything.

No doubt they want them to use the vouchers then drive past them again. Good way to drum up business.

I think even the police may have worked out that a carrot works better than a stick
I would like to think most sensible drivers would respond better to that than a fine.

If your not to busy tonight, Could you please do a few laps past them x 12. As I may be up your way next week. We could take a taxi and have a few freebees .

Ya better be quick Jim as I depart Townsville 2/9 now.
I will have a new grandson waiting to meet his poppy. He should be about 3 weeks old by the time I get south of Melbourne in early October.

Saw that on the News last night. Didn't take a lot of notice so don't know if it's happening here in Tassie or where !! I think it was meal voucher. A free meal with a glass of RED would be ice !!

Judging by the guts on a lot of the constabulary (men & women) I reckon they'd keep a lot of the vouchers themselves. They're so unfit how do they expect to catch a criminal on the run by foot? LOL.

are you absolutely certain its not April first as I think even QLD police would be much smarter than to give out free vouchers for alcohol.

Doug. Your heading "Now I have heard Everything". Just wait till we meet and get on the Red - then you will hear everything LOL
If it was for a pub meal voucher - still bad - how many will have a pub meal without a drink or two or three.........??
If its got to be food - then go for a non-alcoholic venue - even KFC or Maccas......
