Saw a few vans bogged in deep sand on our visit. We took our off road camper trailer, left the van at home. Wise decision on our part as it's 4x4 territory, some of it hard core.

Good morning Keith,
Yes I saw that you had been their when I did a search, but couldn't see if actual vans had. the camper trailers do it.
I would have if we still had the camper, however its been sold to make way for our new van. That's why I throught I would ask. With all the extra touque from the V8TTD I wouldn't hesertate. The soft sand sections is what has me in dought now.
We had been there with our kids many moons ago in our tenting days, lots of fun.
Regards Jim

You could take it Jim. It will make a good tourist attraction for years to come. The dingos could make a good den out of it too.

Morning Dougwe,
We thought you might like to tag along with us, that way we could get a snatch retrevel when the going gets tough. Ho what a feeling

Morning John,
In my hay days, when I was chasing Lambie around the kitchen table, I used to do the odd trip with a mate and his wife to Fraser.
I was missing lambie so much, I would drive 80km round trip down the island every day, just to ring her.
It got so bad when I got back I got down on one fishing rod and asked her to Marry me, hook line and sinker.
30 years later we are like two gold fish in a bowl.
Regards Jim

By the way, remember that you will have to back the van all the way down the ramp into the barge for the trip across to Fraser. Vehicles tend to be packed in closely with not much room to manoeuvre. Then on return you have to back the van out of the barge and up the ramp.
The ramp on the mainland is close to 100-metres long. OK for the small canvas campers but I imagine that a caravan may provide some entertainment for other passengers!
Best to do the trip 'solo' as a foot passenger and watch how others do it before making a decision.

Dougwe my friend, NO!
Bloody Redhead carrot top back then. Hot under the colar back then too. But she slowly circome to my ways a little bit.
She still waves that rollin pin around though.
Looks these days more Brownie Red. She will give it to me for saying that, I think she gets it D....ie...d.
If you don't here from me for a while you'll know she broke all ten fingers with that rollin pin.
Please pray for me yet again.
She's threatened to join the ladies team with her own membership and let fly if I don't shut up.

Thanks Murry,
I think we may take the RV3 tent for a two - 3day reunion.
I live right beside Fraser Island in Hervey Bay If you are able to put a set of tracks on like the ones they have on tanks I would not even dream of it and Doug would say I tell you that forfree
Cheers John

Just keep and eye out for black cats on the island Jim, especially ones with CC stamped on their bum they can cause more damage than a dingo running into ya.
Oh! I tell you that for free
