John,
I've followed your posts since day 1. We have travelled up and down the east coast from Victoria to Cairns and lived long term in both areas and every time with animals. We have always find that they eventually get used to travel once they figure out its not going to hurt them, some take longer that others.

You can get a soft sided pen for dogs with a top and bottom for around $40. Someone saw mine and bought one for their 3 cats. Keeps them confined but can lie in the sun safely and feel reasonably secure.

Enjoy your posts. Agree with Janette, cats need that special space where they feel safe, if they have somewhere to retreat to they may explore a bit more.

Great reading John, have fun with the cat, they normally settle down after a while, it must be strange surroundings to them. Currently north east of Perth heading back inland, got a bit sick of the coast, mainly the wind, the last 2 weeks have been a bit miserable & I've seen what I come to see so will now go where I haven't been before, Mt. Magnet, Leinster & an old township with my surname then down to Kalgoolie.
Cheers, Mike

I met a couple a few weeks back, Any animals, Oh yes, we have a cat. Where? In that cupboard behind the rolled up water hose, Oh yes I could see the eye of a lovely ginger cat. Only comes out at times that suited her. Travelled well, they said.

John, Cruising Cruze's cat always camps with them, hides inside most of the time, just let it be, it will settle.
Another week in the life of this grey nomad, maybe getting domesticated:-
