Almost unbelievable that two weeks after kids were building snow men and having snowball fights at Wentwort Falls we have a raging bush fire that is threatening homes and has over 100 fire fighters from the RFS and two helicopters committed.
what does this mean for the coming summer, well based on past experiance and what is happening overseas with wild fires plus the current prevailing climate and predictions from the weather forecasters combined with my 40 years as a volunteer firefighter I am thinking of getting well clear of high fire risk areas for the duration of the coming summer.
I have found another very good app which I am told works all around the country for all emergency situations the app is:

stay safe this summer and stay aware of issues in areas where you are or where you are planning to go.

Obviously, irrespective of the weather or time of year, fires will always be a problem when there are people who get their jollies is starting them ...

Yea our daughters house in in the street that the fire crossed,it's as dry as toast in the bush around there,it's gunna be another tough year for our firies,unsung heroes all of em

The fire is effectively out just a bit of mopping up and patroling over the weekend to make sure it's safe.
